Hello! It's now December 27th, did you have a good holiday? Perhaps you spent time eating, drinking, going for walks. Somewhere out there though, in that small un-lit spider infested corner of the internet, 2b2t continued strong.

The following video is an excerpt of a 'conversation' lasting over one hour between mainly 2 players - Jared2013 (HiveTyrantRaphi) and Popbob (OreMongerIsANigr) which took place around 8pm Eastern Time. It is narrated expertly by player Fit.

In the description there is a link to the full 900+ lines of chat. Below are some of my favorite lines:

[OreMongerIsANigr] merry christmas faggot
[HiveTyrantRaphi] Pop this is why you shouldn't drink a full glass of vodka
[HiveTyrantRaphi] Fucking pathetic jew yorker
[ChildFondler] it makes the poop slide out and prevents poop stickage
[OreMongerIsANigr] stick your abensent black fathers shotgun in your mouth loser

Here's to a happy new year!

Merry Christmas everybody! Its hard to believe its been a year already since The_fox made his Christmas post. Alot has happened on 2b2t in the last 12 months. Many bases have fallen, many friendships broken, and TPS is lower than ever. However, amidst the anarchy we all knowingly join in (and yet complain about), new friendships and alliances are formed, bases yet discovered grow larger and more powerful by the day, and magnificent structures are selected and cataloged for inclusion in the Vault.

At the end of the day, remember: this is 2b2t. If your base is destroyed, build another. Go out and explore. There are hundreds of builds out there just waiting to be found. When you join the server, you do so with the understanding that everything you work for can be destroyed the next time you log in- and that's part of what makes 2b2t such a great place.

Keep the server alive, donate when you can, and have fun!
Merry Christmas, and I'll see you all on 2b2t!

-TheVaultCurator

Merry merry merry merry merry merry Christmas from the marvelous Mr ftsqr, owner of the slippery pickle in which all drinks and VIP packages are 10% off for the rest of christmas. Thank you all 2b2ters for making 2b2t what it is.

Hey 2b2t, it’s Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday with their friends, family, and/or household pets and you’re all filled to the brim with Christmas spirit! Hopefully everyone is enjoying their gifts and their time off from classes or work to relax and shitpost on 2b2t.

This year has been a wild ride, but 2015 will soon come to a close with 2016 opening on our horizon. Hopefully 2016 will bring many more cherished memories as 2015 has for many of us.

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

-DemonElite119

Happy Holidays to all 2b2t'ers. It's been a fun 2015 on 2b2t, just like every other year. If I killed any of you in the past few years, I just want you to know that I'm almost sorry. Live free, lift heavy, and play block game.

-Fit

Merry Christmas to all, and to all the Warders of the Iron Ring are coming to grief your bases.

-Zhabui

Merry Christmas 2b2t! 2015 was a great for the us. We had great bases and events (Dat first april). It was a year of lessons, union and friendship. It renewed my hopes in the server and I hope it did the same to anyone reading this. I know the low TPS is awful, but it’s something people been enduring for years. And we gonna keep enduring, because we love 2b2t. This imperfect anarchy world

Happy holidays for you, your base, your family and your basemates.

You think that you are lay besiege to this message but I am the one who lay besiege to your message. There are no infidels within 100 km of spawn, this is a Hollywood lie. There are no American infidel in this message! Never! Be assured - this message is safe and protected. Who are in control they are not in control of anything are not even controlling themselves. We will encourage him to commit suicide faster. We have destroyed two base, all your base are belong to us, and their shovel. These pencils are booby traps, do not pick up these trap of the voxel coalition. We shall behead you all! I SHALL SHOW YOU IN ONE HOUR! They are not in any place. They are in no place in this message. There are no place in 2b2t. This is illusion. All of them, most of them, do not have control over themselves. How can you lay siege to whole country? Who is really under siege now? They are trapped in Umm Qasr. They are trap near Basra, they are trap near Nasiriyah, near najaf, near impbase, near valkyria, near the SIB, they are trap everywhere. They cannot read a compass. None of them will come out unless they admit quickly. We killed a number, and captured another number. We blocked them inside the city. Their rear is blocked. THE AMERICANS ARE COMMITTING SUICIDE BY THE WALLS OF IMPBASE. I tell you, The American Louts fled, Indeed, concerning the fighting waged by the heroes of the fecal army of bob, one amazing thing really is the cowardice of the American soldier, we had not anticipiated this. It was rumoured that we have fired tnt into impbase, but this is not true. we do not have any scud missile and I do not know why they were fired into impbase. THEY ARE NOWHERE. They are trapped in every place, they are trap in every base such as valkyria and spawn base.Yesterday, we slaughtered them and we will continue to slaughter them. They think that we are tetarded, but they are tetarded. This insane little fecal dwarf and his American lakey who claim to study biology, he will be shown biology, he is blocked in city and his rear is blocked. We have chopped off their heads. We are winning.

Also why is Lisa Edelstein so cute and why is this allowed in 2016 (IT IS THE CURRENT YEAR FOR GOD"S SAKE) i vote this should not be allowed THANKS 2B2T REMEMBER TUNA LOVES YOU ALL :3 :3 :3

-IamTUNA

merry christmas everyone!!! my name is vic and i am math genius i have 20k chests filled with bedrock in my obsidian fortress at 30mil 30mil but you're all invited so dont worry
oh man 2b2t is like 4 years old now isnt that cool sure is cool yeah ik
i bet 2b2t will die in 2016 but thats ok because the spirit of 2b2t lives on inside us even tho souls arent scientific and probably dont real but that doesnt matter because when you take multiple spacial and temporal dimensions into account and the possibility of extraterrestial life outside our small interstellar neighborhood then yes indeed its possible that souls exist let me explain ok so you know how there are ghosts on earth well if you look closely the ghosts are actually just 3-dimensional transparent projections projected by moonians (aliens on the moon) to distract us from the real truth (that there are ayyliens on the moon) but thats not the whole story
sit down for a moment and let me tell you about the aliens on the moon
they are grey which is why we cant see them because the moon is also grey so their skin acts like camouflage but if you observe the moon in high frequency wavelengths then you can actually see them ok so now you can see them well have you noticed the tesseract shaped skull they have? well let me tell you about the tesseract shaped skull ok so thereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee oops i rested my hand on the 'e' key and backspace doesnt work but thats ok. anyway where was i oh right the moonian skulls get their tesseract shape because they are also projections projected by tesserectians ( lol ) (4 dimensional aliens) in the 4th spacial dimension and this goes on all the way to the -1/12th dimension, this is where current knowledge about dimensions comes to a halt
if we can find the solution to x=x+1 we'll be able to see past the -1/12th dimension and discover the truth about ayliens and souls
thats all folks merry christmas

My Journal - Part 2

Months: February 2014 - April 2014

With the fun on the nether roof wearing thin, I returned to 700Base which was now home to at least 3 of us. All of which hadn't actually met each other yet. It was around this time that I used my first (known) 'Alt' account on 2b2t: J_eb.

The base had been visited by Pyrobyte on his alt, Cryobyte and he had spammed the base and subsequent area with at least 2,000 giant and regular spruce trees. As well as TNT'ing the underground farm... Over on J_eb I had found a nice bit of land and marked out the area for a wonderful base. This base would have all the machines needed to survive without moving. It would have all the mobs and all the mines too.

All well and good until I died without sleeping or writing the coords down.

Back to spawn J_eb went.

I eventually bought J_eb out to around 150k where I built a very small base with a house and farm on top of a Savannah hill. This base was named New Zimbabwe and is still untouched today.

Back on James, I had met up with two players, Victor96 and Stotto. We had decided to turn a small patch of spawn into a nice base of sorts. After finding some half-decent terrain we settled at x:300 z:-300 and named it the 300Base or 300 Tower. This lasted for quite a while considering the location.

We made a nice grass patch, built a storage house, erected a tower and made a sweet wheat farm too. You can still see the remains of this base today.

The lag was becoming worse and worse. The same rollback lag I spoke of in Part 1 was back with a vengeance. Trying to build anything or mine anything was a massive task. The player count was steadily falling. I decided to go over to 700Base and found that someone had left me the 2b2t calling card on a lavacast.

And then, without warning, 2b2t was gone.

2b2t had either crashed again, or was taken down. At this point no one knew what was going on. We then received notice from the 2b2t homepage that the server was being taken down so the admin could work on fixing this lag. But the admin insisted most of the issue was just down to the way Minecraft servers run and not anything else.

With time, a temporary map came online sometime in march. This temp map changed the way 2b2t would be forever. It created new relationships and partnerships between preexisting groups.

Then April came and with it the 'April Fools Map'. This is a yearly event (2015 was an ISIS themed one with music and everything) where the 2b2t map is taken away for a few days and a smaller confined map is put in it's place. 2014's was done as a 'hack', where 2b2t.org showed a page saying it had been hacked and the map deleted.

2014's April Fools map turned into a skirmish between two group bases, 'TOPKEK' and 'WOODSTOCK'. Cobblestone bases were formed on opposite corners of the map and we spent days griefing and raiding each others bases, destroying as much as we could. This was great fun as usual for an April Fools map (apart from the one we all got put in a bedrock pit just like The Pit from the Dark Knight). This was also where I met a player who I still base with right now as I type this.

The map then changed to a free-for-all on a larger map when mobs such as Ghasts and Blazes were set upon us.

Once the yearly map was over, it switched back to Temp Map. We had by this point become a new group, adding the others we met from April Fools into it. Here we made a base near the spawn and then once it got found, we moved further out and made a more stable base above ground.

This lasted for quite a while though, we had various food and animal farms, tree farms and walls were being constructed.

The members of this base stayed together once 2b2t came back, which was around the middle of April. We have made and been at many bases together including Gape 1 restoration, Gape 2, Fenrir and Asgard II.

2b2t was now back to the normal map with hardly any lag. This meant that the players started to come back and the average online rose nicely. I was then back on J_eb exploring further out near my base I had made, which now had a small base of it's own nearby.

That is a brief summary of my time on 2b2t.org during these months! This series will continue right up until present day and then become my live journal. Up next will be May 2014 onward.

Introduction

Hello readers, it's been a little while since I have posted anything personal to my experience on 2b2t. So I am happy to introduce a new series of posts that will reveal and discuss my history on 2b2t. In each series, I will be posting one or two screenshots from each month and explain the events surrounding that month. Unfortunately I lost some of my oldest screenshots so we will begin from around the end of 2013.

My Journal - Part 1

Months: December 2013 - January 2014

By this point the lag was unbearable. We had suffered though November with what can only be described as 'waves' of lag. The only thing constant about it was the fact that it was here to stay. Alas December came and with it crippling lag. But what would 2b2t be without it?

I had taken refuge at the recently lavacasted 700 Base around this time. Well, more like made it my home; I had restored most of the terrain and fixed up some of the houses. Hell, I even started to make the lavacasts look nicer. Something about this base had always struck a cord with me and to this day I'm still not sure why. Perhaps because I had found it so close after it had been abandoned, maybe it was because it was the closest thing to a base this close to spawn after all this time. Either way, from what I could tell I was completely alone inside these (still standing) walls.

This is what 700Base looked like in its prime. (Most of the old renders you will see in this series were made by XCC2.)

But one thing was for sure, I needed a better farm. What was left was not in good condition and with the lag, I knew I'd need a nice big plot so the harvest cycles provided me with endless food. So I walked though this familiar base and found myself a nice central lavacast and began my work.

Luckily this used to be a farm when the base was active. As you can imagine though, having lava thrown all over it and then water for a handful of times kinda ruins any crops. I harvested all the melons I could find and turned half to seeds, ready for when I got the ground ready.

Oh God though, the lag. By mid-December the lag was causing rollbacks every 30 seconds or so. This means you would mine for a good 10 seconds with no drops, and then all the blocks would reappear and you would have to start again. This was happening every 30 seconds.

Soon enough the farm had really taken off. I'd even had some visitors, most friendly, some I had to fend off. Logging in to find the farm half rekt was not uncommon. But I would not be shaken, I would not be forced out of a place I'd already spent months at, even if it was practically spawn.

After completing this I built a staircase inside the lavacast and made myself a little room overlooking the farm. Somehow this remained ungriefed for quite a while, well into the year. More visitors came, mostly new players whom I admittedly took advantage of. I started this game where I would allow them to eat as I watched over them, sword in hand. As they left I would ask them the same simple question: "Did you pay your melon tax yet?"

As you can imagine, this was met by confusion: "What melon tax?" "James wtf?". At this point I would declare that the tax payable was not part of their food nor their items. The tax item was their very life! With a few sharp blows I would send them into the next life and collect their goods. I must admit, this was quite fun and after all, just doing to them what had been done to me by famous spawn patrols like POMPANO and Fubster.

I had also started working on an underground farm restoration that had been completely TNT'd. This was going really well but as I have the tendency to do, I was working on everything at once and got nothing done. So I took a break. I looked around the base in more detail, checking every little corner. I made my way up high onto the sky highways, running along them hundreds of meters above land. This was really fun and something I have missed doing in recent times, just discovering unseen things.

This cycle basically carried on right though December and even January. I roamed spawn and kept an eye on changes to bases. It turned out that someone was living in 700 Base on the other section of it! Eventually we met and after a while, they left onto their own adventure.

January came and was almost over. This was when I met with Pyrobyte, who had managed to get himself up on the Nether roof, something that was very common for players to do around this time period. Pyro had managed to get his hands on some pig spawners, completely illegal items in Minecraft let alone online. We made a nice little pig farm on the roof, right at 0,0 in the nether.

This lasted a good few weeks, exploring the roof, making portals to far away lands and travelling much much further as we could set autowalk on and just leave it for days. Something I regret from this is not walking out to somewhere ridiculous like 20mil and making a base. Sure enough, the exploit was patched and now a plugin resides on the server stopping anyone from going above the ceiling of the nether.

That is a brief summary of my time on 2b2t.org during these months! This series will continue right up until present day and then become my live journal. Up next will be February onward, where I meet some interesting people and work on some awesome projects.

Thanks for reading!

Friends

The most important thing for me on 2b2t. Those were the friends I did. I mean… I based with over 70 people during these two years? Can you believe that? The best part is that they were all nice basemates… Only 2% of them actually were bad people, so this means that 98% of the people you meet and base with on 2b2t, they will probably be good and trustful people. At least using my experience as an example.

However making friends can be hard on this server… Because of the anarchy aspect. You always need to give the first step. It’s a blind move and you risk a lot. But you either do that or rot alone at your base.

When I made Anatolia, my first base, I quickly got bored. A week after I had made the main house, walls and farm, I invited this funny guy in the chat. His name was Drewbookman. If you read the “Tale of Valkyria” in this blog, you’ll know how this ends, but before we even got to Valkyria, Drew was a nice basemate. He made an amazing rail system and also a efficient blaze grinder at the nether. Pyro was invited later with Drew vouching for him. I had no idea who he was, but Drew said he was cool. So to avoid making the wrong impression and giving him a warm welcome, I actually expanded two more floors in the main house and made a room just for Pyrobyte. A decorated room. He loved it and felt welcome at our place.

My first solo base soon became my first group base. We would eventually meet the hitlerwood crew at the temp map Hause did and have lots of fun there. I then proposed that we continue at 2b2t. They told me to choose a location. And that’s how Valkyria happened. Since then… I made lots of friends and few enemies.

I just started playing to have fun and adventure and suddenly I was the leader of this huge group just 2 months later after I joined 2b2t… That was a fucking wild ride.

But the message I want to pass here is: don’t be afraid to trust. Make people comfortable around you, specially new people. Make them feel welcome and respect them. They might not make the same for you, but at least you are doing your best and that’s what counts. That’s how I made the friends I did and the bases I did.

Bases

The bases I did were amazing to me. I always see them as a collection of people’s visions. I never forced people to build on a grid. They could pick the places and claim to build. Anywhere.

Anatolia, Argos Outpost, Erebus Ice Palace, Valkyria, Belegost, Rhadamantis, Valhalla, Asgard I, Nova, Fenrir, Asgard II, FOB, Rebellion, Wrath Outpost. I planned all these bases, but I didn’t

built them alone. There were group efforts. All my bases on 2b2t were group bases. I never had a solo base. I was always with people around since the day of Anatolia. And with people around you, you also attract problems, either from inside or outside, either accidents or betrayals. Its something a base leader needs to deal with. You slowly learn to don’t get attached to the blocks, because deep inside you know they can’t be gone tomorrow. Instead I tried to attach myself to people. No matter what happened, I kept people close. I gave them the benefit of the doubt… And more importantly, I gave them a direction to follow when shit happens. And it seems to have worked, because the groups I made endured even after bases were destroyed. They could destroy the blocks, but not us. And that made a lot of people angry and envy.

What matters to me is the experience, not the blocks. And man, I had a great time building and planning those towns.

Leadership

I never intended to lead anyone either. They just needed a guy to worry about who was coming to the base next and where this or that person could build. It was like a silent election which I had no idea I was a candidate. I accepted the responsibility over the base and did my best, facing both the success and failure. The good and the bad moments. The pressure and stress. I didn’t made myself the leader, they did. It was always like “Ask Sato when he comes online” “idk, talk to Sato”

That’s basically how things started for me. At Asgard I, xarviar declared me an honorary oldfag due my achievements and fast 2b2t career. I was just 8 or 9 months old.

Journey

2b2t is really a journey. It was to me and I believe it is for every player that decides to invest his time on this server. But it’s not just a journey through to the land. Not just a journey through the blocks. To me, 2b2t was a journey of self-discovery too.

I know what you must be thinking “What the fuck is he talking about?” I’ll explain.

Before 2b2t, I never thought I could do the things I did here. Lead a group of 20-30 players in a anarchy environment? Build 14 group bases in the most hostile Minecraft server? No. This server showed me I could give people a direction. It showed me faith in humanity even in the most improbable place. And It also showed me how much of a emotionless monster I can be

Back in the Second Incursion, I did REALLY bad stuff. I was taken by this frenzy at spawn. I became a spawn killer, getting to kill 400 people by the end of the event. I broke people. Not just their avatars. I also broke their spirit.

New players with the desire to start their adventure and explore, with their crappy tools and some food, trying to survive hard… And then I show up and kill them without explanation.

They ask me things like “Why?”. Most times I didn’t answer. I had fun in making people mad and angry. I had fun in ending their chances to escape spawn and by doing that, destroying their dreams of journey. It was then that I started feeling remorse. The best case I can remember is meeting bigbang105 at spawn. He was newcomer that I provoked to punch me. Then I killed him. He was passive, doing nothing to me. He just defended himself from my threat and I killed him knowing that I provoked his attack.

I apologized to him after realizing the douche I was and gave him diamonds and food to escape spawn. He accepted my sincere apologize and we became friends. He is now known as EX0DlSS. You might call me a newfag lover, but we all were in their spot at some point.

I really had a lot of remorse from my actions at spawn and all the good people I killed that could have become my friends and basemates instead.

But after almost 3 years of 2b2t, when I tell people that I miss being a newfag, they react like “What?” “I don’t”. I understand that because they are not me. When I started, everything was so fresh and exciting to me. It was a new world beyond me to explore. Now I explored a lot. Everything feels old and what was once fun is now a burden. A burden to keep the legacy that started at Valkyria alive. It’s like carrying a huge weight on your back while people whisper at your ears “new valk when?”. I don’t have fun at 2b2t since… I don’t even remember. Its became more of a job and duty than enjoyment. People keep to ask me for new bases and to keep the dream alive, but they don’t notice I have to deal with the stress. With the pressure it brings. And eventually the stress takes over the fun, making it look insignificant. The Third Incursion was the last act of the “Valkyrian Legacy” and also the most stressful. I did it for the best of the group. To keep it together and to show our strength.

This is why I decided not to make any more group bases. I am the last Valkyrian. At least from the original ones. I am tired to carry the burden that I helped to create. A race to make Valkyria be remembered and to spread it group spirit across the server… And I think I did a fucking good job.

Community

The second thing I love the most is the server itself. It’s the people online and also the people that don’t play anymore. I tried show my love for 2b2t. To give the server something they would enjoy and find useful. I made the 2b2t posters; I continued the 2b2t cards that Coldwave started; I continue to write more blog posts about the knowledge and stories I have stored in my head and I did the timeline, which is my best contribution. I mean, now with the facepunch threads gone, that timeline is the only reminder of the things that happened before. That or the people that lived those things, but sadly most of them are gone after so long.

I did the things I did because I love this server and everyone inside. Even the aspie cunts. Yes, even popbob… Like that brother you hate and respect at the same time.

I’ll eventually be gone too, like the rest of the Valkyrians and all the others that came before me. Everyone will, until only popbob and his alts remains online :D

Thank you for reading and good luck!
