Apparently everything was fine, but it was really ironic that the fall of Valk came from a person that I wouldn't imagine… after months of watching over anything and anyone.

It started when Kinorana, a new member arrived at Valk. He was quite strange and I even began to think that it was mistake to invite him. He even fooled us into thinking he had griefed Valkyria. He downloaded the chunks and griefed it on single player, took the screenshots and showed them to us. I wasn't at the base when he did that so I couldn't confirm. He apologized to me and so I let that pass.

Then in just one week, Kinorana brought to us the new dupe. He didn't just share with us everything he was duping, but also taught us how to do it. It was a great advance not just for us, but also for the base. We could have more building blocks and more resources. But then started the problem with Drew and Kino. It all began because an armor set disappeared from one of the chests. The people blamed drew for it. And since Kino was always trying to hurt Drew and to keep him away, Drew isolated himself from me and Pyro. And the more friendly we became with Kino, the more unfriendly and distant Drew was becoming.

But that was a reason why people blamed drew for it. There were 3 fire accidents on the base. 1 on some wool decorating a wall and 2 burnt houses - Angry_baby's house and KnightVista's storage. In all those 3 cases, the only witness of what happened was Drew. And regarding the cause, he always answered that it was the “Lightning”. But there is a problem with the lightning fire and its that the rain always put it out before having chance to start a big fire. If it wasn't for that, jungles biomes would suffer constantly from raging fire.

“I am going to keep pretending that I am blind and you're gonna keep pretending that you are a good boy” I remember saying after the third accident.
Drew was the first base mate I had. He was the first person I met on 2b2t, and so even after all this I still continued to defend him and his innocence.

The 3 places that got hit by fire. Not in the same day and not at the same time.

After this, we decided to make the First Spawn Incursion. Most of the members of Valk - now with God equipment - would travel to spawn and take over it just for some days, killing people and exploring its glory. We actually killed a few withers that were spawned there.

We decided then that the best place to group would be at 2k2k. An old Facepunch base that was griefed several times. There Drew committed a new stupid act, by killing Trodam, a person we met there, that we didn't consider as a threat to us. Yet Drew, ruthless, slayed him and burnt his stuff in front of all of us. At this point, I couldn't defend Drew any more. He just walked away from 2k2k after.

Trodam returned and we tried the best we could to help him. We also put a beacon at 2k2k and built a nice small farm. Everything was going okay. But then at night, when most of the crew had left 2k2k or had logged off, a person came and killed Trodam and stole our beacon. That was BAHSAHKAH (Jacktherippa alt). I only had time to log on to see him running away. Me and Pyro tried to follow him in the nether, but he escaped.

And when even Pyro wasn’t online anymore, he returned to 2k2k. I saw him with my radar. He was underground, probably coming to see if he could steal some more or maybe he was expecting to find me there and to have a fight. It was what happened. I ran at the underground with my Glaurung to slaughter. And he waited for me, holding his Arondight. Between those pillars we exchanged hits and cuts. Both with the possession of golden apples. Yet I couldn't win. A fair and enjoyable fight that actually made us to become friends months later.

Of course, I re-spawned close to Valkyria. At a secret place. A few days later… It happened.
Several buildings in Valkyria were damaged by TNT and fire (including the walls) and 5 withers were spawned during the night. I was at Anatolia when it happened finishing the tower project I had started but hinder and Coldwave were at Valk. They killed 4 of the 5 withers and tried to find out who did it.

I, suspecting Drew, started to talk with him in chat. He said he wanted to make a new base and that he also had the perfect coords. But I ended up getting more from him. This griefing purpose was to spread paranoia to everyone. He confessed to me. He said he wanted to break the group apart. Shatter the crew and return the way it was before. I got a mixture of rage and sadness. I felt anger and pity for him. He then apologized for having disappointed me. I accepted his apologies and forgave him. But I was only speaking for myself. Not for the others.

He actually was stupid enough to share his coords with hinder…before confessing. Hinder went there with Coldwave and Zach. Drew tried to run away but they ended up getting him. He tried to fight, but Drew was overwhelmed. He was killed and his duped stash was burned down together with his secret house.

When I then had the opportunity to return to Valkyria, I found a lifeless place. All the buildings had received damage. The torches that once lit up the place were taken. Darkness and mobs were under control of most of our beloved houses.

I then ran to the plains I was preparing for the base expansion and found one last wither, resting in a deep hole in the underground. In a moment of anger I went down the hole, shooting arrows until the evil creature went to ground, to finally finish it with the sword. And then there was silence. That awkward silence after a battle ends. I got the nether star and started to go up again. And since all the beacons of the Valkyria were stolen, I decided to use that nether star to make the last beacon. I don’t know why I did that. I guess I just wanted to leave something behind

I left the base shortly after to never return. Got everything it could be useful and went to the portal.
Valkyria I member board (before it ended):

Valkyria was gone.

Or at least that’s what I thought…

I would like to extend a big thank-you to Sato86 and all the guest posters for their fantastic stories and contributions!
This base was our safe place. A place to return after the battles and rest. It was our Valkyria.

I went to it after an arduous walk in the nether to find Hinder, Coldwave and KnightVista. They were already there because Hitlerwood, their base, was closer. In the few hours after they arrived at the location, they had already started working on it and built places that would help us establish a functional base. KnightVista built the first storage of Valkyria. A wooden house with many chests inside (that got burned later on). Hinder not disappointing too, built a central building that still exists today (despite having slightly changed). His building with swastikas would be used to provide shelter for everyone.

In the following weeks many new things were built. I made my home, next to the central building and zach made a glass building (which no longer exists). More people were coming: drewbookman, zach3397, Infiltrate and sirms. Each of them made important contributions to the foundation. I realized then, that the buildings were a bit distant from each other. In order to solve this problem, I decided to build a wall to impose a limit on the town. That would make the base get more concentrated.  And the wall did that job very well.

Sirms built the tallest building in Valkyria, a tower that almost looks like a lighthouse by the proximity to the sea. Infiltrate started a weird building project that he would call "the target". Drew then made one of the most important parts of the base: the 3 layer farm, that provided food for everyone.

But it was not all happiness. We had a problem in that land since the first day that made me get a little paranoid. Along my way to Valkyria, walking through a forest just after leaving the nether, I found this:

A huge base, apparently abandoned and a little griefed was on the way to Valk. Nothing like the presence of a neighbour to leave you paranoid. Especially when that neighbour is only 2k of distance.
One of the first things we did was actually go to that place, steal all we could and then burn and blow up what we couldn't take. We also made an effort to erase all our tracks. The funny part is that we still don’t know who the owners were. We couldn't find any sign with names. I do remember they had a double spider grinder underground.

But my biggest fear at the time was the possibility of this base to be known and still active, which could place Valkyria in a bad situation. However this never happened. The members that once lived there were long gone. They never returned. But at the time, I was still constantly worried about that.
I even got to build a place not so far from the base to be able to start over if something happened. Just a few knew about it. It also took some time to find, since I was looking for a double spawner.

Drew then had the “brilliant” idea of spawning a wither like 1k away from our base. I told him that was a bad idea, yet he proceeded and ended up dying to his own creation. I went to the location without items and was able to save his items and escape the wither by running underground and digging.

After this we tried to gather people to kill it. Pyro gave the idea, but again… shit happens. We, 5 players were humiliated by the wither. We didn't have a plan and so it was complete chaos. It killed 3 of us, including me. We all had to fall back, but I managed to come back and save my stuff. We didn't possess any golden apples, so the wither's effect was very brutal to us. A funny episode actually and Drew’s wither was only killed during Valkyria II.

(Valkyria Eagle first appears as a simple black wool art near the docks)

At this point, Valkyria was growing and growing. We had to make a board just to put the members and incoming members, so people would not kill each other after seeing a strange person.

People say that new map events bring the weirdest alliances. And I have to agree with that. It was thanks to a temporary map on 2b2t that my life on this server changed, but not just mine. 22 players life were changed by it as well. This temp map made possible the encounter of 2 groups. Hinderj crew, with Coldwave, Zach, KnightVista. And our crew with me, Pyrobyte, Drew and Angry_baby.

This temp map was a completely mess. People killing each other and thieves surrounding bases from all directions. The server was on fire, and in the middle of that battle I made contact with Hinder. While we were established in a stupid underground mineshaft, they recruited more people and also were about to build a base. I wanted to be part of that base, so I started a talk with him. At the start both of us were a little suspicious.

This was the result:

I was well received and well treated. They all gave me a warm welcome. I was immediately accepted. And I also accepted them immediately. That was a good day with experiences that brought us together. I remember when Hausemaster arrived to summon hundreds of zombies, creepers and Endermen, everyone acted like a team. We were like a small army. Obviously each had their independence, but there was also the teamwork and sharing.

That day I not only met the hinder friends, but also other people who joined us, but they were not necessarily part of one of the two groups. It was after this event  - momentary chaos on the server - that I started planning a new meeting.

I, like Pyro, Drew and Angry, we were living in a village of NPC's since our last house had the coordinates accidentally exposed.  And it was a nice ice palace, I must say. We were homeless in the "old map". So I ventured into something new. I started talking to all the people who were with us that day and talked about a possible meeting of the group.

Not a surprise to know that they all agreed with that, but the problem was the location. Nobody wanted to use their base as a meeting point. They left me responsible for choosing the meeting point. A good place to build and secure, but not so far from spawn.

The first picture ever taken of Valkyria's natural terrain.

Using the map seed, I was able to find a place with a nice landscape, but also with good resources. A land of hills close to the sea, with a forest not too far away as well as a desert. And at this new location, the meeting started. This place would receive, in the next weeks, many names. The Facepunch Reich, The Black Flag Republic, Niggertown. But since nobody would reunite to come to a decision, I had to also pick a name for the base: Valkyria. Inspired by the angels of the north mythology. Their mission was to rescue the fallen warriors in battle and to take them to heaven.

- Stay Tuned for Part 2 -
The new republic simply started as an idea that I had one day while tending to my crops alone at my first base (15k 15k). At the time I had only Zach3397 living with me and we both were getting very bored of the game in general, I proposed the idea of leaving our first base to Zach, he had heard the stories of the old republic and agreed that it was time to leave and try to forge out a name for ourselves. Before leaving we left a simple memorial to the old republic and all her glory.

Coldwave's first base

The Memorial

We moved to capture the old capital of the republic first, 2k2k, a place close to spawn that we could use to gather our members before moving out further from spawn to build the new republic. Zach was the one to make a post calling for any and all help with forming the new Republic on the thread for 2b2t. A very risky move looking back at it but a move that was crucial to our development. The first two folks to message Zach were the big black man himself, Hinderjd and a man going by the name Dorquemada. By the time they had both arrived at 2k2k we had gathered even more new faces for the republic such as Lostmygun, Sveargieth and Devon54321. Our strong force of six set out into the wilds looking for a place to settle the new republic. Our first real base was a simple staircase going to bedrock and good sized foyer containing a hall for rooms and all the things we would need to survive and even thrive. The new republic had made great headway, Fort Cosby Doop Dop Jello Pudding was a success.

Fort Cosby

Farm

Eventually the base was leaked to x0XP by a visitor and he ransacked it, killing a few members and destroying our base. The spirits of the new republic were not broken however, we began anew and set out even further this time with a couple of new members including Joezep5, Ginger23 and Parthicus. A new base was formed that never even had the chance to be named before it was leaked by Parthicus (unbeknownst to us) and wiped out by x0 once more.

Unnamed Base

For a time the new republic was crushed, Zach and I fell back to a hideout without any of the other members so we could try and figure out who was leaking. We even turned against each other for a moment and almost fell apart entirely, but we held together after finding out that Parthicus was the one responsible for leaking to x0. A week went by before we once more called upon our members to regroup at a small village we had found far out from spawn. A place that we would build off from and turn into the last and greatest new republic base. Hitlerwood.

Construction continued

The sign was erected

Hitlerwoods near final form

There the new republic settled in with its final cluster of those we deemed the most trustworthy on 2b2t, we had been through a lot together over the span of a year and finally could grow together. Eventually the fun at Hitlerwood did dry up and we saw fewer members online everyday. Soon enough though Hause implemented a new map and we met with Sato86 and his group of players. The New Republic merged with Sato's group to form a new base, a base that would go down as one of the most successful bases in 2b2t history.

Valkyria

With that the story of the FP republic comes to a close and a new adventure began, a story for another day perhaps.

Shenandoah, a thriving base amidst the turmoil that is called 2b2t. Shenandoah first began in early 2014 by Jesse_number6. Seeking refuge after having his base griefed, he decided to create a new safe haven. Construction began first on the Great reception Hall, then on The Castle.

The beginning was rough, never enough torches to light the way, never enough supplies and most importantly, never enough people. Then, something miraculous happened. The castle began to grow and as the castle grew, the population grew.

Starting with EXODISS, one of the bases primary founders, many more people began to come. Suddenly things began to grow. A market for trading was built, more houses, an iron golem farm, a larger barn, and so much more began. With the appearance of many more people, a group needed to be formed. A name for the people who reside within the walls of the safe heaven of Shenandoah.

The Legion of Shenandoah it was named. A group of people dedicated to maintaining peace and order in the anarchy of 2b2t. All are welcome. All are invited. All will survive.

Hi Everyone, today I want to share with you a base called Fenrir.

It has been around for around 6 months and is composed of many players. Although there are around 23 unique players in the group chat (36 accounts in total), only around 8-10 are still based there.

The group comprises of many well know names such as Victor96, Lueesy, xarviar, Pyrobyte, Coldwave, Caleesii, Kino and of course, the founder Sato86.

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a nice holiday!

Today I'm writing a fairly brief post as I have had an extremely busy weekend and haven't really had a chance to '2b2t it up' at all. I just finished rendering a montage for the second gape, 'Gape 2.0' A.K.A 'Caleesii's Gape'.

I hope you find it entertaining!

It all began after Gape 1.0 was lavacasted for a second, more destructive kind.
New terrain was scoped out, far away from spawn.

The square was marked out at around 128 x 128 and it was estimated that we had around 1,400,000 blocks to dig out. As you can see, it all went very well with a lot of the area dug out.

After a couple of months though, with a pigfarm, rail duplicator and horse breeding centre all created and more, interest was in decline.

This is when an invitation came to some of the players at Gape 2.0 about a new, upcoming base featuring many old well-known players. After some time other players from the Gape 2.0 were also invited.

This is most likely the last post of 2014 so I wish you all the best and see you in January where I will be posting more frequently (roughly every 2 days) and a lot of video content of my current travels.

Hello, 2b2t. I have been given the honor of posting this blog post by James. I just wanted to take the opportunity and wish you lot a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years. I certainly hope you lot will stay on 2b2t in 2015, and that we will share a lot of new memories with eachother; Be they more of swastikas or bases getting burnt; Either way, I am sure 2015 will prove to be as much of fun as we have had in past years.

Don't let 2b2t die, make sure you donate and keep the server running! I sincerely doubt there is any place like 2b2t, where anarchy truly can rule. And just keep on staying awesome, 2b2t! Really, you guys truly do rock.

Sincerely,
The_fox

Hello boys and girls. I'd like to tell you the story of two wonderful, magical places known as 'The Gapes'. Or in layman's terms: a really big hole.

Around February 2014, Victor96 began digging a hole to bedrock. Some players joined him but due to being close to an ocean, progress stopped. The small group of well known players banded together tocreate a gape in a better location, about 100 meters away.

It started with the hole being dug, with some chests as storage. As more players joined, a three storey castle-themed fort was built around X:1000 Y:-1000 that held the players and their items. The hole being dug was around 128 metres by 128.

But in true 2b2t fashion, a mix of betrayal, attacks and lavacasts ended the project reasonably quickly. The Gape lay dormant for many, many months.

One day, I was at 700 Base and decided to explore. Upon my approach to The Gape, a players name appeared on my radar. I approached with caution, as my current base was mere seconds away.

Here I met the self-named player '2b2t' (Who to this day we still don't know their true identity) who explained to me that he had been working on restoring the base.

Before long, there were around 9 players at The Gape, breathing life onto it.

The base did eventually end up being lavacasted, filling most of the hole with cobble.
This did not stop us though, as we picked up our belongings and moved on, far from spawn.
There is where we set out to create a bigger, better gape. The sequel that is known as Gape 2.0

I'll be writing about the second Gape in an upcoming post.
